CampHire was founded in 2020 by a brother-sister duo, Aaron Lyon and Esther Eisenhard, with the mission to help camps find fabulous talent to bring the camp spirit to life. With 28 years of camp experience, and ten years of professional recruiting among them, Esther and Aaron’s industry expertise runs deep. Today, CampHire is the largest domestic recruitment partner to summer camps in the United States, servicing camps of all types, formats, and sizes. With hundreds of successful placements, CampHire’s reach has expanded to serve likeminded partners in nonprofits and education.

As a company, many of the skills and lessons learned from working at camp are woven into the DNA of our business. Our founding principles are around adaptation, innovation, and speed, with a focus on building human connections, inclusiveness, and belonging. It’s all about winning as a team.

As part of our DE&I commitment, we leverage diversity job boards to engage a wider range of candidates from underrepresented groups, and are attracting new audiences to camp. In addition, we utilize AI software, Textio, to replace bias language from job posts with inclusive messaging that appeals to the broadest range of candidates.

Esther Eisenhard (she/her)

After a career in education, Esther joined Google as a recruiter for Software Engineers. Esther attended Camp Yavneh in NH and spent four summers on staff as a counselor and unit leader. She also met her husband while both on staff together. Esther has a Bachelor’s Degree from Indiana University and a Master’s in Childhood Education.

Aaron Lyon (he/him)

Aaron has worked in HR strategy and customer experience his entire career. Aaron met his wife at sleepaway camp and has worked as a unit leader, counselor, and basketball coach. Aaron has a Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management from UMass Amherst.

Aaron is an avid surfer and volunteers as a dog trainer for the Guide Dog Foundation for the Blind. Connect on LinkedIn.
